Reason for testing:
To determine the functionality of on-site subsurface waste disposal systems.
Method:
Injection of dye into the septic system in conjunction with record search and site inspection.
Results:
Report indicating status of the septic system and recommendations if any. A septic maintenance handout accompanies every report. Any system can be tested at any time. However accurate testing can only occur when the following conditions are met:
- Structure must be occupied for at least 60 days prior to testing.
- System must be used for at least 60 days prior to testing when the system has sat vacant, has been pumped or changes (i.e. re-plumbing of grey water) have occurred.
- Winter conditions (i.e. snow cover and frost) must not be in effect.
