Reason for disinfection:
To clean and disinfect a well which prior water testing has shown is not potable.
Method:
Injection of a 5% chlorine solution into the well and flushing it throughout the system. After 24 hours, the well is pumped free of chlorine and the water is re-sampled.
Results:
Report indicating that the well disinfection has corrected the bacteria problem and is producing potable water (i.e. Bacteria levels below EPA Maximum Contaminant Levels)
